Waste Disposers

Waste disposers are the clean, hygienic and practical way to dispose of kitchen waste at its source. What’s more, using waste disposers is more environmentally responsible, as the end product from waste disposers can be recycled into soil conditioner at the water treatment works. In this way, waste disposers drastically reduce the organic waste your household might otherwise contribute to landfill, and this is in harmony with EU regulations on waste disposal.

There are several different waste disposers available, but the main difference between them is whether the waste disposers operate in batch or continuous feed modes (although some can do both). This affects the other main difference between waste disposers: their switching options.

Continuous feed mode is fairly self-explanatory; run the cold tap and the waste disposer will handle a stream of food waste being fed into it. These waste disposers can be operated by wall switch or by an air switch on the work surface.

Batch feed models grind just the same and require cold water, but are operated by a micro switch in the plug hole. Turning the plug starts and stops the waste disposer, meaning that waste is processed a batch at a time.
